Regal Heights Participates in Queens Community Board 3’s Annual “Leon Von Holden Memorial Health Care Expo 2012”

On Saturday, June 9, 2012, Queens Community Board 3 held its annual community health fair in honor of community activist, Leon Von Holden, at the Corona Health Center. Regal Heights proudly participated in this community service, providing free health screens, education, and teaching to the neighborhood. The Regal Heights team was made up of a registered nurse, registered dietitian, and licensed clinical social workers. The team provided blood pressure checks, nutritional counseling, and information regarding advance directives, dementia care, and caregiver support. The health fair was well-attended in spite of the cloudy skies and occasional drizzle. Entertainment included dance and zumba demonstrations, music, and an appearance by Mr. Met, who also gave away free Mets tickets.
