Regal Heights holds its annual community health fair 2013

Posted September 26, 2013

Regal Heights held its annual community health fair on June 30, 2013. This year’s theme was “Get Heart Healthy” and among the different types of health screens offered were blood pressure checks, blood glucose screens, pulse oxymetry, vestibular testing, carotid testing, echocardiograms, and nutritional counseling. Dr. Perry Frankel, board certified cardiologist/internist from Saint Francis Hospital and the North Shore LIJ Health System, and director of Advanced Cardiovascular Diagnostics, was on hand with his staff to provide testing and information. Duane Reade pharmacy’s pharmacists and staff were also administering flu shots and other immunizations. Alzheimers Association discussed their Safe Return program, and other health care providers gave information on dialysis, long-term care insurance, homecare, medical equipment, and financial planning. The local community board (Queens CB #3) greeted their members and provided community information. Participants were treated to yoga demonstrations, salsa dancing, karaoke, spa treatments, face painting, refreshments and raffles. The fair was well-received and well-attended.
